Nelson Needs Three Wins To Surpass Wilkins

The Warriors defeated the Clippers on Sunday night, moving coach Don Nelson closer to becoming the NBA's all-time winningest coach.

Nelson needs two more victories to tie Lenny Wilkins on the all-time list and three to surpass him.

Golden State has nine games remaining this season. They'll have to win all of them to surpass their record last season (29-53), which was Nelson's worst mark over an 82-game season.

Mastrov Sets Sights On Owning Warriors

Mark Mastrov, a native of Oakland and successful businessman, is looking to enter the race to buy the Warriors.

The franchise went on the market last Monday and Mastrov is aware of the several potential buyers, including Oracle's Larry Ellison.

"I don't worry too much about that; there's going to be a lot of Larry Ellisons looking at this opportunity," Mastrov said. "If I sit back and say money wins championships "... when you look around the league, there are a lot of very wealthy owners, like (Mavericks owner) Mark Cuban. So it's not just about having deep pocketbooks.

"You have to understand the process and you have to put the right team together. If we decide we can get into the bidding process, I think I've put together a phenomenal team that can execute plans to bring the Warriors to the level of a winning program."

Mastrov founded 24 Hour Nautilus health club in 1983. It grew into the 24 Hour Fitness chain. He sold the franchise for $1.68 billion in 2005.

Monta Puts Himself Next To Kobe, LeBron

When asked about a recent Rolling Stone article, which declared Kevin Durant better than Kobe Bryant, Monta Ellis raised eyebrows with comments of his own.

"I'm going to say LeBron James," Ellis said when asked about the league's three best players. "He can do it all, pass, score, defend, block shots. No. 2, I would have to say, me. I can do a whole lot of things: defend, score, make passes, do whatever I need to do.

"No. 1, I'd say Kobe Bryant. There isn't one player that can stop Kobe one-on-one. He has a lot of stuff. He can defend. And of course, he won four championships."
