Derrick Brown recently met with Donnie Walsh for 15 minutes, expressing his frustration with why the Knicks claimed him off waivers.

The Bobcats had waived Brown with the intention to re-sign him, but he was claimed by the Knicks.

Brown has played just 16 minutes of garbage time for Mike D'Antoni.

"I don't want to comment on that too much," Brown said of his long talk with Walsh. "It was personal."

Walsh considers Brown to be a great prospect, but that he isn't ready for heavy playing time.

"I was going back to Charlotte," Brown told The Post last night before the Knicks' 99-95 loss to the Pistons. "They put me on waivers just to make the trade. You have good days and bad days. I'll try to be professional about it."

Brown will be a free agent this summer.
