Caitlin Clark's new deal with Nike is worth up to $28 million over eight years, sources tell the Wall Street Journal.

Nike's original deal with Clark was signed in 2022 and was set to expire at the end of the 23-24 college basketball season.

Even back in February, Clark's agents at Excel Sports Management told interested shoe companies that it would take a deal of at least $3 million per year to sign her.

Puma dropped out once they were informed of the floor Clark was looking for.

The bid from Adidas ended up being worth $6 million over four years. Under Armour came closer to Nike's offer with one worth $16 million over four years with a signature shoe.

Nike's initial offer of $3.5 million per year didn't include a signature shoe. There was the possibility that Clark would become the female face of Kobe Bryant's line, which was relaunched in August 2023. Nike eventually upped its offer to include a signature shoe.
